Founded in 1980 by Gene Dixon, the Athens Twilight Criterium was the first nighttime race in the United States in over 60 years. What began as one race with 40 competitors has since grown to offer eight separate race classes and 150 cyclists competing in the main event, the men’s criterium, a 60-km race around downtown Athens.

Mom and Dad visit

Posted in Uncategorized on April 28th, 2009

My (Morten) Mum and Dad visited us for nine days at the beginning of April. We all had a great time and Asger really enjoyed having his grandparents around. Did a weekend trip to Savannah and a visit to the Aquarium and Coca Cola Museum in Atlanta. At the time of departure we all felt like flying home to Denmark, so I guess we had a really good time :o)

A nice 5 day trip to Savannah and Charleston (South Carolina). Two really nice cities at the Atlantic coast. I think we liked Charleston the most, but it was a close race :) Click on the picture to get an impression of these two fine cities.

Snowstorm

Posted in Uncategorized on March 30th, 2009

Upon returning from New Orleans we were greeted by a snowstorm that completely took the city off guard. Result: cars scattered across the roads, broken trees and power lines all over the place and frequent blackouts. Fortunately the good weather returned a couple of days later with +20 degrees Celsius. Strange place… As always, click the picture for the rest of the pictures.
